My future profession and career

Sooner
or later all of us face the problem of choosing a career when we are to decide
what we are going to become in future. At the age of 17 we lack life experience
and our desires sometimes don’t coincide with our possibilities, we are too
ambitious and imagine ourselves at the top position. That’s why it’s very important to have
somebody to give us a piece of advice.

You
should examine thoroughly your abilities and character, take a realistic view
of your strengths, weaknesses, intellectual capacities, financial and other resources, pay attention
to your parents' suggestions and friends' advice and take into account your own
preferences. You also have to consider the demand for a particular career in
the labour market.

It`s
a challenging task indeed, finding the perfect match between your personality,
interests, skills and values.

Besides,
a young person's parents usually have their own ideas of what career path to
follow. Some parents are more democratic and let the child determine his future
by himself. Some are oppressive and overprotective and try to force the child
to select this or that occupation.

Choosing
a career should not only be a matter of future prestige and wealth, work should
bring real satisfaction; otherwise your whole life will turn into dull and
monotonous routine. But if you are used to luxuries and expensive purchases,
then low-paid job is not what you are looking for.

As
for me, I have made up my mind to be an engineer, and my choice of this
occupation didn't come as a sudden flash. I think that nowadays this profession is of
great need and importance in our country.

It
is my aim to be a qualified specialist. I am hard-working, kind-hearted, and
broad-minded. I think that my facilities
combined with rather profound knowledge in the field of Math and Drawing would
be quiet enough to enter the university and succeed in my further work. I have
no doubt I’ll never regret my decision and I hope that my interests in this
subject will never change in spite of any circumstances.
