Nowadays many students have the
opportunity to study in foreign countries. While studying abroad brings many
benefits to youth, it also has a number of disadvantages. What`s your opinion?
Nowadays
it is hard to become a successful person without a higher education and thus a
dispute arises between people over where a student should study: abroad or in a
native country. Let`s speculate who is right!
As
a matter of fact studying abroad is almost always more expensive that studying
in one’s local university, so it is the best option for our students to study
in Russia. Furthermore, studying in a native country is easier as a person does
not have to learn a foreign language or get used to a new environment. Finally,
students often have to learn subjects and pass exams in a foreign language,
which may limit their performance and mean they do not attain their true level.
On
the other hand, some people claim that studying overseas has a lot of
advantages. Firstly, a student can easily improve language skills in foreign
country. Secondly, a long-term separation from a native land develops such
character qualities as independence, confidence and courage because there are
so many challenges a person has to cope with abroad.
That
may be partially true, but our universities send their students overseas for
practice in wider range of courses. And we shouldn`t forget that for studying
abroad students have to leave their families and friends and experience
psychological instability.
To
sum up, I would say that getting a good education totally depends on a person.
I believe if a student wants to be successful, some drawbacks of local
education can be definitely overcome by the benefits easily.
